Giving Back

This is about so much more than myself. You are my neighbors, friends, and family. The success of your students and family is the collective success of the community. I believe in us--and I believe in our collective power to tackle the issues ahead of us. These are my roots and the community that made me--I’m investing right back.

Changing the Odds

I am a proud first-generation college graduate and I learned to navigate systems that were not created for underserved students of color like myself. I went from survival on campus to thriving, having graduated with honors. My story can no longer be the exception, it must be the expectation of all students. I’m running for students because our zip codes should not define our destinies. It’s time to stop asking students to overcome the odds and it’s time we start changing the odds.

It Takes a Village

I attended John W. Runyon, Edward Titche Elementary Schools and Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School. Caring teachers, administrators and plentiful opportunities changed my life. It takes a village and I believe in the potential of every single student. Let’s provide them with the means for them to carry it out.
